Gim Teng is my MTO during my NS time & this is where I got to know him. He is a man of high integrity. Over the years (10) that we had known one another, I had witnessed his responsibility, honesty & openness for his actions in all aspect of life. His consistency of character had made him reliable & trustworthy.

Gim Teng as my friend & also my Financial Planner had helped me on all the enquires I had regarding insurance & investment. He had provided me with all the answers I need for me to make the best decision at different stages of my life. We got to know our FSC, Gim Teng, through a mutual friend.

Fortunately, Gim Teng was very knowledgeable and my husband and I bought AVIVA MyShield and life insurance.

In 2018, I suffered from a herniated disc that required surgery. This led to a cascade of back issues, one of which sent me to the A&E. While waiting, Gim Teng was a quick WhatsApp message away, and he helped to push the paperwork through, securing a Letter of Guarantee so we wouldn't need to worry about paying upfront in cash and fighting later for a reimbursement. Gim Teng even went the extra mile and visited me in hospital to make sure that all the claims went smoothly. Thus far, my back problems that required surgery have amounted to an estimated $150k, a sum that would have been impossible to pay out of pocket.

What we like most about Gim Teng is that he has never had a salesperson type of agenda, and recommends financial services that suit our needs without being pushy.

I’ve known Gim Teng for a very long time, we knew one another when we were in the same army unit back in 2007. Back then he was already someone that is very responsible, determined, caring and team oriented person, he would make sure that the tasks given to him are completed, not mediocre but of high standards, he would challenge himself to take up tasks that he is unfamiliar with and he never gave up, he would equip himself with the necessary knowledge to do it, he would not shy away from asking others for advises and he will make sure he gets that answer that he needed, he also never fail to impress me with the level of care and concern he showed to the people around him, he would often ask how are people under him is coping with work, spend time understanding the person and their issues, he would stayed back with the team every time to complete the work together and organise games to bond the team, and I still see these traits in him now. Knowing him for so long, I do see his growth each time we meet one another, he is clearer with his thoughts and is more out spoken each time I sees him, on top of that, he never failed to impress me with his set of principles, which he still holds on to dearly, and is getting more humble each time despite his success in career.

Gim Teng had helped me in a lot of areas, not just as a good friend, but also as his customer. As a friend, 1) he would often share his financial wisdom with me openly, he would spend the time to slowly explain to me the trending that he is seeing, 2) He is a good motivator, I remembered that there was a time when I was trying to change my job, he immediately offered me a job and told me how well he thinks about he, advised me not to give up and can seek help from him anytime if needed, 3) When I had a food business he would support me timely. As his customer, 1) he would timely me help me review my policies, I remembered that there was once I’ve gotten a few polices that doesn’t suit my profile and he help me adjust it accordingly and I am seeing the result now, 2) if there is any new products that would benefit me, he would informed me at the first instance, 3) informed on any update in policies that would disrupt my insurance profile.

I must say that as a customer, Gim Teng is so far the best insurance agent that I had encountered, he is always there provide advise and help, he also follow up on matters expediently, I remember once when my son was in hospital, he immediately rushed over and help out with hospital on the payment and gives advise on what to do next. Having confidence in his service level, I had referred to him some friends and relatives and so far they are all very happy with his services, and I will continue to refer him if chances arise.

Great Teacher Onizuka, aka Gim Teng Ong (GTO). He is my cousin, my playmate and my sparing partner.

I bought my first policy from GTO when I was 19 years old and never regret ever since. I am 34 now with most of my insurance topic covered and that is how experienced he is in this industry. Did I also mention that he is with the same insurance company for these 15 years? Loyalty is the word to describe him. Be sure that he will also be loyal to you as a client and not leave you behind with another agent. During these 15 years, he manage to build a portfolio that is suitable for my family (to protect and to invest). Whenever I have a topic pertaining to insurance or investment, I will look for GTO. He will be there ready to answer your questions and if he does not have an answer, be sure that he will be on top of it and get the answers for you. GTO is a very approachable, fun and family person. You can be sure that you will be very comfortable talking to him even for the first time.

I covered my family via GTO not because he is my cousin. He is always sincere and looking out for clients when policies/regulation changes. You can always buy an insurance or investment off shelve that is cheaper. But what you cannot get from those off shelves policy is the professional advise and service level of an agent. Furthermore, it is always good to have one point of reliable contact for insurance matter.

Knowing GTO for 34 years. Trust me, this guy is filled with grit and determination. He always believe in one slogan “slow and steady win the race”. He will built strong foundation and will never rush any client to sign policy that he or she does not feel comfortable. With that he earned tremendous trust from clients and rose to a leadership position to continue to spread his knowledge and wisdom.

Gim Teng was introduced and recommended by my sister after she had a few meet up sessions with him.

He is definitely not pushy in trying to force his customers to buy a new financial policy. He believes in maintaining a healthy long-term relationship with his clients. He will recommend the appropriates policies based on your level of income, budget and what best suits your financial needs. He can explain complex financial plans very clearly which are easy for laymen like me to understand, making it easier to make important life decisions.

And also, despite me trying to maintain a professional relationship with him, he believes in establishing a more personal relationship with his clients, to know them as a human being with a heart and soul. He takes the extra effort to understand our career and background and lends a listening ear during our difficult times. Sometimes I even wonder when he is going to start with the proper financial discussion. :D

Aside from guiding me to make important financial and life decisions in the types of financial plans that suit me most, he also gave useful career advice helped me to widen my perspective from the bubble I was in. My favourite was how he can summarize of all my financial plans so the future of our financial states can also be forecasted based on different scenarios.

He really gives financial advice which is best suited to your financial needs, not a cookie cutter one-size-fits-all approach. From the genuine conversations we had, you know he wants to maintain that long term relationship with his client. There is that assurance that he will be there for support many years down the road when you need help.
